Wisdom After Chaos: The Most Important Things I Learned from my 2015 Life

2015 had been a very significant year in my lifetime. Maybe because it’s the year I entered the quarter life and had been through the quarter life crisis, I must admit. This post may seem very personal but I still want to put this on the record as the past year has taught me almost everything I need to know in love, family, business and happiness.

Family (Really) Matters

Yeah, you read it right. We all know how important family is in our life. But sometimes, we tend to disregard their value. Surely not because we do not want them around but because we think we can manage. Or maybe, we think we can do everything all alone.
Their opinions can really be a pain in the ass but we must acknowledge the fact that those are valid opinions. Yes, the best advice and opinions in the world would come from your father, mother, aunts, and uncle and even from your cousins.

You think you know everything but trust me, you don’t.

It’s Okay to Get Confused

There will always be a point in your life when you will think if you are on the right path. A point in life when you will think about what you really want to do and what will make you happy. The answers may not come in as easy as ABC but it’s okay. Go on with your life and persistently wait for the time when you will realize the things you want, you need and the things that you must let go.

Realizations will come in bits and pieces, so do not worry. It’s okay to get confused at times.

Take Risks

So when you get confused, you will stumble to thoughts you never thought you could think about. There will be pros and cons. There will be ‘what ifs’. It’s fine. Take the risk. If you fail, if you lose, at least you won’t have to think ‘what if I made a different choice.’

The risks can be so frightening but after surviving all of it, you will only come out stronger.

Do not regret your decisions, learn from them

While I was torn between choices, a good friend of mine told me to make a smart decision. After everything that happened, a smart decision is out of the question. I do not know what a smart decision is anymore and I have been honest with the circumstances.

My friend told me to think of what’s best for me, make a decision, stick with it and DO NOT REGRET. He got a strong and valid point, right?

So there, to sum it up, I got a very rough and tough 2015 that made me so ready for whatever is coming this 2016.

Have a great 2016 everyone!

Consequence of Uncertainty

I knew I might lose but I needed to be certain
Or be endlessly unfair
A heart that has grown cold
Or maybe not
Just a soul that needs catalyst

So I went on -
A courageous facade
A frightened heart
A baffled mind

I know better now
But I lost the battle

Should I go on?
A fragile facade
A broken, fearful heart
A strained mind

Now I am certain
But alone.

Stress, eh?

I have been drowning in a stress pool lately. But as you know, life has its ups and downs and for me, this phase is just one of those downs.

I am just glad that I have peers who are very supportive. Everything will be okay, I know.

Sharing with you an artwork from the boyfriend. I really find it funny how my stress has inspired the boyfriend to create such an image.

Stress Is Eating You Up
Good thing about moments like this is that you will be able to see how blessed you are with people who really care for you.

Have a great day!

Toy Making Workshop

Last year, before the year ended, the boyfriend and I decided to attend a Toy Making workshop. It was actually the boyfriend’s idea and he just encouraged me to join as well.

There was no requirement for the workshop aside from the workshop fee, of course. The workshop fee is inclusive of the materials that you will be needing to make your own toy. We got to take home all the materials that we used during the workshop.

Materials

We were a bit late on the scheduled time because of the unexpected heavy rain that also caused heavy traffic. So when we got to the venue, I was terrified. Why? It’s because the participants have already sculpted their pieces. I mean they have already formed shapes and figures! I was worried that I might not be able to form my desired object.

But because we had a very good instructor, I was able to catch up and he gave me some tips on how to start working on the project.

And here's a photo of my precious little sculpture without the color yet.

Freshly made!
The painting of the finished toys was not included in the workshop so I painted mine at home.

Take a look at it!

I am so excited to practice what I learned from the workshop.

Have a great day!

Planner 2015

Let me start this post by greeting you all with a Happy New Year!

It’s been a very fun and refreshing holiday. I have so many plans and goals for this year and I am very excited to take the steps to complete my plans and to achieve my goals.

In the past few years, I used to get a bulky planner to jot down my to-do-lists and to plot upcoming events. But this year, I decided to get a tiny planner from Hallmark and a notebook (gift from a colleague) instead. I will use the planner to plot events and keep track of my schedule and I will use the notebook to jot down my to-do-lists. Hope this works. Haha!

How about you guys? What planner are you going to use for this year?

May we all have a wonderful and blessed year!

Cheers!
